All commercial products offered by Neo Technology are based on open source technology developed at Neo4j.org. For developers, Neo4j.org contains a breadth of information as well as access to both source code and binary releases of the open source Neo4j edition.

The Neo Community site Neo4J.org contains a lot of good information for a developer that wants to get started with Neo, evaluate the technology or dive deep into the source code. At the community site, you'll find tutorials, public mailing lists and both source code and binary releases.

Neo is licensed under a so-called dual licensing scheme. This means that it is available to download from Neo4j.org under the free software license Affero General Public License v3 (AGPLv3), which basically states that you can use Neo at no-cost and with full access to its source code in an open source project and for evaluations. (For a precise definition, study the license text, or contact us and we'd be happy to assist you in choosing the right edition.)

A fully functional version of Neo is available from our community site right now. You can try the community edition for evaluation purposes before you get a commercial license.
